CAS-Nummer: 8012-89-3
Synonym: Beeswax, Cera Flava, pure beeswax
For use in medicine, pharmacy and high-quality natural cosmetics.
Application
With its special consistency, pure beeswax (pharmaceutical) is an exceptional material compared to other waxes or wax-like products. In addition to its use in pharmacy and medicine, beeswax (Cera Flava) is often the basis of high-quality natural cosmetics and is popular as an ingredient in homemade ointments and creams due to its high antibacterial effect, among other things. It can also be processed very well in small manufactory scale. In application, pure beeswax is said to have a high skin-protecting effect, as it provides particularly long-lasting moisture to the skin. Beeswax (pharmaceutical) also contains vitamins A and C and can also be used as a food additive E901. In addition, one of the most important consumers is the beekeeping industry itself, because beeswax is necessarily needed within the production cycles of honey. There, beeswax is regularly used for the production of so-called midwalls.
Precautions
Wash hands and other exposed body parts with mild soap and water before eating, drinking or smoking and when leaving the workplace. Provide process area with good ventilation to prevent formation of vapors. Do not expose to open flames. Do not smoke. Use only non-sparking tools. Avoid inhalation of dust/fume/gas/mist/vapor/aerosol. Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas. Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after use.

Further information
Beeswax consists mainly of esters, a cleavage product of long chain fatty alcohols and organic acids and naturally also hydrocarbons. Natural, unbleached beeswax, which has a wide variety of yellow tones due to its origin, also shows a characteristic aroma pattern that allows conclusions to be drawn about the bee itself. These components even make up several percent of the total mass and indicate the origin and bee breed. And there are even far more than 20,000 species of these worldwide. However, humans use only nine different bee species as honey or beeswax producers.
Storage
Store only in the original container in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep container closed when not in use. Avoid direct sunlight.
