Paraffin oil perliquidum is used in formulations in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and technical chemical industries and is primarily used as a base ingredient in cosmetic products. Especially in oil-based care products, paraffin oil is at least a partial component.
The oil has film-forming, protective and hydrophobic properties, promotes gloss formation and provides consistency.

What are the properties of paraffin oil perliquidum?
Paraffin oil perliquidum is a low-viscosity paraffin and a colourless and odourless liquid with a freezing point below -15 °C. The flash point is 190 °C and the boiling point is between 200 and 240 °C. Paraffin oil is insoluble in water, but easily soluble in petrol, ether and chloroform. It is the purest form of paraffinic petroleum derivative.
How is paraffin oil perliquidum produced?
Paraffin oil is a by-product of the production of paraffins from crude oil.
The paraffin produced in this process is purified and, depending on its C, used for the production of Vaseline or other paraffins, e.g. for cosmetics.
The higher the degree of refining, the purer the paraffin product. Paraffin oil is refined several times in order to filter out residues of undesirable ingredients during the manufacturing process.
