Application: 

Ethanol is produced by means of alcoholic fermentation. In this process, glucose is converted into ethanol with the help of yeast fungi. It is used as a fuel substitute or additive in gasoline engines for motor vehicles and in aircraft engines. It is also used in the chemical industry as a basis for solvent production or as a preservative and disinfectant. Due to its purity and environmentally friendly properties, it is very well suited as an alternative to fossil fuels, as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide emissions are extremely low. In addition, no toxic exhaust gases are produced when the product is burned. Due to its low-cost production, bioethanol is also significantly cheaper than fossil fuels.

Precautionary measures:

Wash hands and other exposed areas of the body with mild soap and water before eating, drinking or smoking and when leaving the workplace. Provide process area with good ventilation to prevent formation of vapors.

H225 - Highly flammable liquid and vapor. H319 - Causes serious eye irritation.

Precautionary statements:

P210 - Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. Do not smoke.

P280 - Wear protective clothing, eye protection, face protection.

The plant components resulting from the production of ethanol, such as fats, proteins and plant fibres, are used for the production of food, fertilizer or feed, also known as "concentrated feed". Due to the many nutrients contained in ethanol waste, this represents a sustainable solution for the production of animal and plant feed and fertilizer.

According to § 27 para. 1 no. 3 AlkSTV, the product is exempt from tax. In addition, the product is completely denatured in accordance with Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 2018/1880.
