Disinfectant (base: ethanol)
What is ethanol-based hand sanitiser used for?
The hand sanitiser is used for the hygienic disinfection of hands. It develops reliable protection within a short reaction time.
The ethanol-based hand sanitiser is virucidal, bactericidal and fungicidal. It is directly effective against a broad spectrum of viruses, bacteria and fungal spores.
What properties does the disinfectant have?
Ethanol-based hand sanitiser is a colourless liquid with an alcoholic odour. It has a flash point of 13 °C and a boiling point of 78 °C.
The product is highly flammable and can form flammable or explosive vapour-air mixtures. It should therefore be kept away from heat sources and stored in a fire-safe place.
How is hand sanitiser made?
The ethanol-based hand sanitiser is produced according to the WHO recipe and consists of ethanol, hydrogen peroxide, glycerine and distilled water.
As these are potentially hazardous and highly flammable materials, it is not recommended to make your own disinfectant privately. Disinfectants from chemiekontor.de are BAUA-approved and, depending on the origin of the active ingredient, can be used for commercial or private use.
